Reducing outpatient follow-up, improving access and cutting waiting times

Thursday 8 August, 12:00 – 13:00

This webinar will explore our CLEAR women’s health project in Derbyshire which looked at improving women’s health services – focussing on the menopause and menorrhagia pathways – with the aim of providing more personalised care, reducing outpatient follow-up appointments and cutting waiting lists for elective care.

The project was commissioned by NHS England and worked with two primary care networks (PCNs) – Erewash Health Partnership and PCCO, alongside University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation.

The national CLEAR team interviewed staff from the two PCNs and the trust and combined this insight with analysis of patient records covering five years to understand the key challenges and develop recommendations for improvement – which included new women’s health hubs with specialist clinicians and extra training for staff.

Clinicians from the sites and project team will discuss the challenges they faced, how they navigated the CLEAR methodology and projected impacts.
